Last year I contracted a sore throat unlike anything I've ever had.  I went to a couple doctors, neither of them knew what exactly it was - we listed a bazillion things it turned out NOT to be - but the end result was, it went away on its own and left my vocal cords slightly scarred.

 Tonight at the Open House one of my kids introduced me to his mom as, "This is Miss [Waldo].  She's the *coolest* teacher on the 5th grade team."

 • The first and second graders did a musical performance for us at our weekly all-school meeting.  It was a freaking hour long.  It was a lesson on the lifecycle of the dark-wing beetle set to the music of Vivaldi's "Four Seasons".  Did I mention it was an hour long?  Done by first and second graders?  About bugs?   Oy.  Anyway, at one point, ( Read more... )
